“The United States seems destined to plague Latin America with miseries in the name of freedom.” With this prophetic remark in 1826, Simón Bolívar, the Liberator, made a chronicle of interventions foretold: a history of interventions, military and political, some of them disguised and others open, with which the giant of the north imposed its imperial dominion on the Latin American nations.
